Interview with Juan Pablo Mazzola.

IMN – On a scale of one – ten: how good has your day been?

Juan - An 8 I’d say….I went to a mystical place here in Buenos Aires, good vibes…had a ham and cheese baguette, smoked a couple of cigarettes…had a little argument with a stupid old man on the bus.

IMN – Please can you make a word up for the genre your music lies in?

Juan - Acousticsometimeselectrickindamelancholicpowerpop

IMN – Describe the genre?

Juan - Well, I don’t know….I used to have a full band a couple of years ago, not that we played a lot of live gigs but we did a lot of electric rehearsals…until the band was no more, so I started writing a lot of acoustic songs….most of the times on my own, alone in my house…so it is melancholic and it is self penned….now that we have a new band, we are starting to play/record a little bit more of electric stuff again.

IMN – Describe the bands style in six words.

Juan - A non profitable band from Argentina.

IMN – What music have you guys produced recently?

Juan - We are recording a cover of “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around The Old Oak Tree” by Tony Orlando for a friend of mine in the U.K. who wants to treat his girlfriend with an exclusive track, such a beautiful love song….we are doing it with the guys at Groove Strasse in Berlin, check them out, it is a killer online studio….http://www.groovestrasse.com/

IMN – Where can we buy/download it?

Juan - Here http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/secret-place/id449771741make your world a better (or a worst) place….

IMN – Any gigs coming up?

Juan - I am working on it, maybe something for Jan in Buenos Aires…haha, I guess this is a bit far from your reader’s location.

IMN – Do you social network?

Juan - Well yeah….add me on fb and we’ll chat about the end of the world and power chords http://www.facebook.com/people/Juan-Pablo-Mazzola/613389971 and also you can like our page at http://es-es.facebook.com/pages/Baby-Scream/134179451410?sk=app_2309869772 then you also have myspace and reverbnation but I don’t think people are using these sites….and SoundCloud which is great, because it is only about music…http://soundcloud.com/babyscream

IMN – How’s the music scene in your area?

Juan - Gee….I don’t know man, I don’t think I am the right guy to talk about this….there are a lot of great people here…but to me it was always hard to belong, it was as hard as getting the green card in the U.S……it was like Don Quixote fighting the windmills….I guess apart from depressing it is really funny, in the end it is all about music.

IMN – One last question – apple of pear?

Juan - I don’t know what you mean about this, but I’d say Jimmy Carr.
